Editorial Policy

This page explains how we write, check and update the articles on the Vetified blog.

Who writes our articles

Articles are written by E. Maddens, co-founder and head of product development at Vetified. He is not a veterinarian. Our articles are for education and do not replace a visit to your vet.

How we research

We base our articles on peer reviewed veterinary studies and published clinical guidelines, such as the consensus guidelines of the World Association for Veterinary Dermatology. The studies we rely on are listed in a references section at the end of each article.

How we use AI tools

We use AI tools to help draft and organize some articles. Every article is checked against its sources before it is published, and we correct anything that does not match the research.

Our own data

Some articles include what we see from our customers, such as which searches lead shoppers to a product or how often products are bought together. This comes from our own Amazon sales and search reports. We only share totals, never anything about an individual customer, and we say where the numbers come from.

Our products

Vetified makes the products mentioned in our articles, and we say so next to every product we recommend. We list other options too, and we tell you when a problem needs a vet rather than a product.

Updates and corrections

We review our most read articles regularly. When we change an article in a meaningful way, we add a short note saying what changed and when. If you spot an error, please tell us through our contact page and we will review it.
